The Huawei Watch 5 presents itself as a high-quality smartwatch in our test, offering convincing optics and technology. The new X-Tap sensor as well as the gesture control represent only a couple of the innovations brought by the Watch 5. Additionally, it impresses with a good battery life in our test.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Healthier-and-faster-to-your-goals-Huawei-Watch-5-smartwatch-review.1019754.0.html
While notebookcheck reviews are etalon in smartphone and laptop area it fails in watches review.
Eg.: this watch is totally not worth the money despite the review evaluation:
- GPS is inaccurate in forests or covered areas despite dual frequency.
- Totally closed software environment, you can not export any kind of data.
- Inaccurate elevation measurements.
- No dedicated offline outdoor map which can be used in sport mode (only in separated app).
- Shiny display glass mirrors the environment.
(my personal opinion: the design is somewhat basic, not elegant nor sporty)
+ HRM measurements are one of the best, better than Garmin, but it is not enough for this price tag.
