Title: Samsung Galaxy A36 5G review - The affordable smartphone focuses on security & a premium feel
Post by: Redaktion on May 11, 2025, 13:08:09
If you're looking for an affordable mid-range phone in 2025, then it's hard to avoid the Galaxy A36. At least with regards to its focus on long-term update support. But dual eSIM and a water-resistant case are also unique selling points in this price range. Has Samsung built the best smartphone for under $400?

Yes. A US$350-ish phone is indeed "midrange" unlike the iPhone 16e (that was called midrange in another article on this site) which at US$600 is either very top end of midrange or really lower high end. Even the iPhone SE was upper midrange at US$450.

QuoteStorage: 256 GB UFS 3.1 Flash, 256 GB 🟩, 103.5 GB free
Is this a bug of some kind or what? If not, what the hell takes 145+ GB of storage to have just ~40% free on a completely new system??

Sweet phone though, too pricey now (Nothing Phone 3a is cheaper and better in almost everything), and there is no particular reason to get this over the "old" A55 (better and cheaper, also has a microSD slot). Once it drops below the 310€ mark (the A35 256 GB is under 300€ for quite some time) it will be an excellent purchase.
