Xiaomi HyperOS 3 was originally intended to be based on Android 16 and give buyers of Xiaomi smartphones full access to Google features such as the Google Play Store. However, at least one version of the system is now said to largely dispense with Google, meaning that Xiaomi is preparing for an escalating trade war.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-HyperOS-3-to-operate-without-Google-services-due-to-US-trade-war.1010893.0.html

HyperOS is already doing a good job of losing users even before thus. Worst device I have ever owned (due to the software).

Yeh, can confirm. Tried 2 Xiaomi devices one before HyperOS and one after HyperOS, 4 years apart. And even after all that time to improve, nope, still sucks. No change at all.
This is ridiculous. First Huawei sh** the bed and now Xiaomi to follow. Leaders in global innovation shooting themselves in the foot. Not a smart move.
