GMKtec is now selling the EVO-X2 freely in the US after opening pre-orders on its retail platform earlier this month. Available exclusively with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 from the AMD Strix Halo family, the GMKtec EVO-X2 is configurable with up to 128 GB of RAM and packs enough GPU performance to challenge modern laptop GPUs.

the memories are permanently soldered and the evo-x2 has no slots

Yes, that is the case for all devices that will have this family of processors. It is mandated by AMD.  AMD claims to have investigated using CAMM2 and LPCAMM memory, but couldn't get the timings tight enough.
