Title: Luxeed R7 Max RWD debuts as SUV with ~1,000-mile EREV range and Huawei vehicle platform
Post by: Redaktion on April 19, 2025, 19:35:17
The Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery has introduced the Luxeed R7 Max RWD and Ultra AWD as its latest extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs). The cars combine electric and conventional ICE motors to drive their max range to just over 1,000 miles (in the R7 Max RWD). They are also the world's latest HarmonyOS 4 cars, which is not the only aspect of their technology developed in partnership with Huawei.

1551km or 1000 miles is roughly what a modern 1.5L petrol gets out of a 67l fuel tank anyway. So what's the point of these types of EVs? Tax breaks?

You're making a vehicle significantly heavier, more complicated and more expensive to basically match the economy and practicality of a 10 year old Honda Jazz/Honda Fit?

Luxeed R7 Max is a large SUV, not a B or C class small car with 1,5l engine.
What saudis are going to do with all the oil, when EVs take over the world? Camels do not
