Earlier this year, reports emerged that Samsung was considering bumping the Galaxy Z Fold up to 45 W charging to match the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. As a multi-generation Flip owner, I don't care about 45, 75, 155W charging, I charge mostly overnight on wireless trickle charge, and then top-up with either wireless trickle charge at desk or slow-medium charge (depending on vehicle) while driving to keep up with Android Auto for busy days. I pretty much NEVER need 50% in 15 mins, even when travelling.
Like most flip owners I want more of the CORE Sammy features (found in base S24s) like DEX (even throttled to Note 10 level if heating is an issue) or at least full DP support not forced PC mode , LPTO external display for AOD functionality at low power and a refresh bOost (even 90hz) for clarity, plus UWB so I can use my Smart Tags to their fullest (a Qc chip instead of Exy would've pretty Much guaranteed that on a Flip7), and of course better Smart Screen app support without half-arsin' it with smart lock. 8K video support would also be nice for 'future-lookin', but to me less important than fast charge, but also if it's in the base S24/25 why not Flip?
Fast charging is a party trick better suited for if Samsung made a phone the size of the just cover screen alone and required frequent charging. But there are far greater priorities for most folks who want a feature rich flip/fold rather than a faster charging phone (that result in 5-10 mins diff to 50% 😒) with the same features as 2-3 yrs ago. The alternatives just don't push Samsung enough (Moto is close but still trails in key areas like updates and ecosystem).
Focus fast charging on the Fold perhaps, but in the flip if heat is really such a concern it negates Dex then cooking it with fast charging isn't helpful.
