The Snapdragon option will be even more affordable than the AMD option while providing longer battery life and likely quieter fan noise.

I'm assuming that it's an OK laptop for Linux, but I'd definitely not touch it for Windows.

Um, the Snapdragon X1 26 100 is a budget Snapdragon (less even than the Snapdragon Plus, much less than the Elite), not a next generation. It is not faster, near as I can tell from reviews I've seen all over.
