Google is testing a new desktop mode for Android 16. The feature, dubbed Desktop View, would allow users to connect an external monitor and use their smartphone like a traditional personal computer.

Another point, Android needs to incentive apps to allow user saving files in folder and subfolders of their choosing, also easy access with favorite folders. AI could be used for something useful here.

A lot of phones don't even have usb 3.0 connection, still stuck with usb 2.0 speed (like xiaomi's phones). I doubt this will matter since most phones that has video out from usb already has a desktop feature.

That is fine. I've a non-Xiaomi USB 2.0 speed connection phone.

Not interested in wired DeX like functionality tho.

Any idea if wireless like DeX functionality will eventually ever be planned?
