Title: As Xbox sales dwindle, the Series X is unavailable in much of Europe
Post by: Redaktion on March 03, 2025, 00:49:51
The Xbox Series X is becoming a rarer sight across Europe. As Xbox sales crater, Microsoft is sending fewer consoles to the continent. Is the Series X a victim of the company's multi-platform strategy?

A more likely scenario is that they're preparing a revised disk model that's cheaper to make, enabling either a price cut (which is desperately needed) or higher margins.

It's also possible they'll be passing it out in favor of a 2026 launch for a new console. Likely? Hard to say. Possible? Absolutely.

Are you sure it's out of stock in the Microsoft store?

Just went to the online UK Microsoft store, it lets me place in basket a Xbox series X 1TB black disc version. Wasn't able to fully go through the order and see if it actually worked tho as if forces you to login with a Microsoft / Hotmail account which I do not have. But yeah, it seemed fine? Unless it just lets you add items to basket without checking local stock levels at all. Which could be a possibility also.

Microsoft does not support Xbox in several European Union countries. My country is still not on the list in Xbox settings, not to mention you can bump into payment issues for Xbox Game Pass as your credit card might not be accepted (even if your country is in Euro zone / SEPA) and even worse you cannot claim prepaid Game Pass without using a VPN to a supported EU country.
That said even Turkish residents are better off. Not to mention that games are cheaper in Türkiye.
Sony on the other hands fully supports any countries within European Union. So does Nintendo, Steam, etc.
Thanks Microsoft for supporting diversity! Oh, that hype-word is now a thing of the past with the rotten US policies.

I've heard mixed things about the Microsoft store in the UK. I'm in North America, and I can't seem to find an easy way to check stock there.

I don't see the problem. Waiting for Xbox Prime, after selling the Series S after it had installed the one game I bought it for,FSX. But then there weren't any place left for other games, so I went back to my*neX with 13Tb (!) of stored games on HDD/SSD.My biggest wish is that Microsoft drops all proprietary addons like storage, etc and goes for the cheapest and best for the consumers instead!
Looking forward to skip s "generation",if we can call the "Series" a generation at all?
