A sizeable portion of PC enthusiasts prefer SFF and mini PCs over traditional towers. The Minisforum UM790 Pro is one such system that packs the powerful Ryzen 9 7940HS APU, offering commendable performance as well as value, courtesy of an ongoing sale on Amazon.

I'm sorry but it is almost comical how NBC frames their comments on hardware depending on the assumed target audience. Case in point:

"the RDNA 3-based Radeon 780M iGPU, while no match for a discrete GPU, packs sufficient grunt for occasional lightweight gaming sessions and non-intensive workloads"

However that SAME iGPU (and others like it) seem to take on almost heroic abilities when found in supposed portable & handheld gaming systems.

The as shown and quite possibly the 'bare bones' UM790 systems would be a good fit for living room 'multimedia PC's'. Grab one of these devices (along with its power brick) and a game pad controller and head out to anywhere that might already have an existing screen to use and you have a 'portable' work/gaming station.

I've been using of these as my homelab - with 96GB RAM, running a bunch of VMs and containers. Plenty of grunt to deal with anything I throw at it, whilst sipping minimal power.
