Gamers hoping that Avowed can match the success of Pillars of Eternity have reason to be optimistic. The first leaked Avowed review praises the Obsidian Entertainment RPG for its colorful visuals, customization, and replay value.

Why was thier ever a issue with the price of the game? Because they said it is not the size of Skyrim? Many games aren't and charge as much if not more. Weird thing to say in this article if true. I expect it to make me feel like I didn't get robbed moreso than most games. They are charging 55 for Elden Ring Nightrein and that seems like a glorified DLC to me. I can't wait myself, then we have Outerworlds 2 coming to.

I was just mentioning some of the top concerns gamers have on Reddit, Steam forums, etc. The price is one, but you are correct that $70 is fairly standard these days. It won't be an issue if the game is enjoyable and offers different experiences with each playthrough.

Colorful visuals? That's what a 3-year-old would care about.

I love high fidelity graphics but if that's the highlight for a reviewer then that's not real impressive.

There's plenty of games with colorful visuals.

I'm not very hopeful about the game. I think most people aren't.

And the blame can be put on people who overhype games. And the fact that people can't talk about what gamers used to like for decades and decades when it comes to games.

When a studio essentially has a muzzle on because they can't really say what they want to say then that's a red flag.

The game is probably not really going to have what most gamers wanted in it and the game probably isn't going to be as great as people wanted it to be.

And this is what happens when creativity is stifled for reasons everybody knows about.

But I hope I'm wrong in this case. I was really looking forward to the game. But over time my excitement has started to fade.

Yes we are starting to see more and more of these cartoony bright rpgs with a lot of purple and not an ounce of dark or grit. I also agree with everything else you said even though most people will ignore that part. When a game is top notch it's a whole vibe, the atmosphere, the immersion. That's hard to accomplish when you have ideas and values that seem out of place or forced. If they manage to make a great game I could look past it though because that's really the most important thing, games like this that full of personal beliefs and have devs who are trash talking gamers months before release usually are not good though.
