Title: Nvidia RTX Neural Texture Compression could reduce VRAM usage by 96% via download
Post by: Redaktion on February 10, 2025, 22:41:20
Nvidia continues to charge exorbitant prices for graphics cards with more than 8GB of VRAM, while AMD and Intel are more generous in terms of memory, especially in the mid-range GPU segment. Nvidia now wants to make up this disadvantage with RTX Neural Texture Compression, which basically allows users to 'download' more VRAM.

They will do ANYTHING to get out of putting more RAM in their cards.

I am so lucky that 1 GB VRAM are enough for me. I am more worried about melting power connectors of cards with >400W TDP though.
