Title: Unplayable on Steam Deck: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 tested with gaming handhelds, ROG Ally manages playable frame rates despite hiccups
Post by: Redaktion on February 05, 2025, 16:59:21
For those wondering how Marvel's Spider-Man 2 performs on gaming handhelds, specifically the Steam Deck and ROG Ally, a recent analysis appears to paint a somewhat gloomy picture. The experience is far from pleasing on the Steam Deck, and although the ROG Ally manages decent performance, it is not without its Windows-specific downsides - for now.

This article is so untrue. Spiderman 2 plays perfectly well on the steam deck with out of the box settings. Averaging a playable 30+ fps and sometimes up to 50.

This game will get the tick soon.

This is an example of just letting anyone be a journalist and report on stuff. I have spiderman 2 and I play it only on steam deck. The settings are on medium and I'm on 30fps no issues. Wth are you talking about. This is poor report and attempt at journalism.  I'm 100% sure you aren't even reporting from personal experience but copied what you heard and then posted on this site. If you have a steamdeck and was interested in spiderman 2 you should definitely not miss out. Also I'm playing Final fantasy rebirth on high settings at 30fps.

Interesting, this doesn't at all line up with my experience playing in Steamdeck and i'd be the first to complain.

And if you turn on FSR3.1 framegen... wow.
Actually reaches the Steamdeck OLEDs max framerate at 90hz occasionally.

Hmm I wonder if the testing was done without FSR3?

I took time to comment on how wrong this article is. I have played through Spider-Man at low settings at a solid 30 fps on my Steam Deck.  With FSR enabled, I easily get around 70 fps, and sometimes 90 fps at very low settings. Please learn how to use a Steam Deck before writing an article about it!

This is unplayable on any handheld I own them all I build gaming Pc's for a living the 4090 has problems with lag and stutter in this game it's poorly optimized all the way around on all devices outside the ps5, I would put money in it that's exactly what Sony wanted, give u a taste of the game then when ur pc sucks or ur hand held are terrible then for the price of a handheld grab a pc an play it how it was meant to be played. Buy the game on steam at least they give full refunds. Truth sells papers not made up bullshit that area has passed tighten up notebookchat.com
