Austria's capital is investing $21 billion in energy efficiency projects to end its dependence on natural gas imports from Russia. Instead, heat pumps, geothermal energy and other local supply systems are being expanded to heat Viennese households and institutions.

Happy owner of an Air source heat pump for water heating, and home heating/cooling.
It's an expensive machine, but power consumption is ridiculously low for what it's doing (so my wallet is happy about it every month).
