Xiaomi's first-gen electric vehicle (EV) has now officially reached the end of its first year on the market far ahead of its original estimated delivery volume, adding nearly 20,000 more units to the total in December 2024 alone. Now, the OEM has unveiled a new target for the car that is over 2x the milestones it has already passed. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-SU7-lines-up-to-double-2024-sales-target-in-2025.939610.0.html
Price/quality/performance is a beast on that car.
BYD and Tesla will have a hard time competing with it.
As for traditional western cars, they lost so much market in China (used to be a huge market for them), that they're not even in the picture anymore.
No wonder western countries are putting tariffs. They're just not competitive anymore (due to corruption) so they need state protection.
This car and the company are simply amazing. I didn't think they would be able to pull it off, being their first foray into this market. I, for one, welcome our new Chinese car overlords. Just wish it didn't come with the sticky labor practices, of which I have absolutely no way to verify.
Congrats to Xiaomi on the success of this vehicle. Very cool stuff.

Labor practices for these cars? They're built by robots, so there's barely anyone around: https://www.carscoops.com/2024/05/xiaomis-automated-ev-factory-can-build-an-su7-every-76-seconds/
