Title: Next-gen laptop tipped to debut with in-built haptic keyboard and custom silicon
Post by: Redaktion on December 03, 2024, 20:07:57
One of the next laptops with a foldable display might be one with no need for an external physical keyboard, according to a new leak. It might have an up-to-date build with a processor designed in-house by its OEM. The device may or may not come as a follow-up to the world's first tri-folding smartphone.

A solution for pointing device is needed at least as much as keyboard. I use a trackpoint so I'm good, but a mouse or trackpad even always seem so removed. I guess eye tracking isn't going to cut it, which is sort of unfortunate (though also good because the device should really be very intentional given our surveillance capitalism reality).

i can imagine the kind of next-gen foldable laptop could utilize a type of smartphone hinge system in use today. all ports on the sides. i'd like a big (17" screen comparable) foldable laptop with an e-ink display on the cover side.

Sure, this ages so well. Ever seen how bad it turns after just a few months?
