In the interest of accuracy, EVs (tesla and others) in 2025 may lose the $7500 federal tax credit because of Donald Trump, not Gavin Newsome. Newsome however has proposed to ADD a $7500 state tax credit in california to offset this loss. The credit would focus on "lower marketshare manufacturers" meaning it would ultimately not apply to Teslas. Except is the federal tax credit taken away for certain manufacturers or all manufacturers?
Brilliant move by Gov. Newsome! Elon Musk will reduce production at the Freemont CA Gigaplant by the reduction of sales in CA. Which equals lost jobs, lost taxes and could lead to the eventual shut down of the plant and supercharging stations.
Donald Trump thinks the gov should not pay 7,500 for all EVs, fair conpetition. Gavin Newsome wants to make an example of Elon musk by showing how he treats people who stop being a democrat. These kinds of actions are why the democrats lost the election.

Trump can't take away the tax credit in 2025 because the budget for 2025 is done a year before. So tax credit can only be removed in 2026.
