Xiaomi's first-ever self-developed smartphone SoC has overcome a major hurdle. It has taped out in an unspecified 3 nm node, meaning it will enter mass production soon and potentially launch next year.

Good job.  One more vector attacking Huawei Kirin chips making Huawei work more furiously with SMIC to develop domestic 3nm process.

kirin 9020 used 6nm smic. Meanwhile, SMIC is still developing 4 or 3nm fabrication, we still don't know what generation of Kirin SoC it will use
