The smartphone SoC space is steadily heating up and is likely on an upward trajectory, considering that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will soon join the Dimensity 9400 and A18 Pro to fight it out for the smartphone SoC crown. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Snapdragon-8-Gen-4-claims-multi-core-performance-crown-but-A18-Pro-leads-the-pack-in-single-core-with-Dimensity-9400-stuck-in-the-middle.901592.0.html
This is because mediatek being one-step forward using 7 previous gen core out of 8 cores.
The fierce competition between
Apple A18 pro

Qualcomm snapdragon 8 Gen 4
What you got here are 3 winners in performance with no losers. All 3 chips are on the 3nm node process that's loaded with lots of features with fast powerful performance and are a significant upgrade over their predecessors. As far as the performance differences in the 3 chips are miniscule and which one you choose is really a matter of preference since all 3 chips are equal in overall performance.
The author is really trying to emphasize the better single-core performance of the A18P rather than diversifying their statement. Even then, if the benchmarks are correct, the SD8G4 still has a higher performance uplift in terms of multi-core performance: 15.54% to be exact, while in terms of single-core performance, it's a rather lackluster 8.824%.
The dimensity 9400 is the most efficient by far and should have the best battery life and it won't be close
Awesome! What store do I need to go to in order to buy the phone that runs on this? Are there any other "leaked" specs we should know? Has someone "leaked" the specs on thsat chip that does time travel yet?
