The AMD Ryzen 7 9700X leverages improvements in the 4 nm Zen 5 architecture to offer excellent single-core and gaming performance on par with Intel's best 14th gen offerings, including the Core i9-14900K. While the Ryzen 7 9700X's efficiency gains make for a potent gaming PC build, AMD's current pricing strategy complicates buying decisions vis-à-vis the competition.

Only if you're using ASUS who was making BIOSes with out of spec settings.

Even though I intend to go with a Zen 5 system next (but probably 9950X), that is a grossly misleading headline which will make me doubt all of your reviews in future.

The headline only says it offers 14900K "levels" of single-core and gaming performance. That is true when you average out results from several benchmarks/games.
It doesnt say the 7700X beats or surpasses the 14900K. Not sure why you think that is grossly misleading.
