Title: Arrow Lake vs Zen 5: Core Ultra 5 245K demolishes Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X in Geekbench multi-core test
Post by: Redaktion on August 15, 2024, 12:24:57
Intel Core Ultra 5 245K Arrow Lake CPU has just made its debut on Geekbench and the results are potentially troubling for AMD Zen 5. The chip is apparently faster than both the Ryzen 5 9600X and the Ryzen 7 9700X by quite a wide margin in the multi-core department while being slower in the single-core test.

I think "destroys" is an overstatement since Intel uses twice as much power

Oh, you have power draw numbers for Intel's upcoming gen?

Didn't think so.

I figured this was a job at Intel's 13th and 14th gen chip self-destructing, honestly. Intel definitely wins at destroying there.

Yeah, they were inspired by an AGESA firmware bug in the Ryzen 7000 series that would inadvertently cook Ryzens when EXPO was turned on.

And in this dark corner of our zoo you can see AMD shills trying to cope.

Oh come now, it goes both ways - AMD has its share of issues too, it's just the idea that Intel wins at destroying anything but its own chips that was a little funny.

Woohoo first one to get to bargaining stage

In professional IT forums everyone is waiting for Intel to recover because the last two generations of Intel Core 13 and Intel Core 14 burned out and Intel confirmed that it would not refund or replace defective processors from the factory, something that has created a crisis and caused Intel shares to fall by almost 40%, a real catastrophe, Intel is betting everything on these processors because no one wants to buy the rest of the generations.

Hardware unboxed says that if you use the administrator account with the Ryzen you get a 6% increase in gaming performance due to a Windows 11 bug

👉plus another 6% for disabling smt in gaming and with this pbo you can outperform the 7800x3d in gaming
👉but curiously, all the reviews of the Ryzen 9 9950x have come out without disabling smt when the bug was already known.
👉It doesn't matter, the worse it goes for AMD, the happier the blue Fanboys are and how Intel briefcases circulate on this website.

I'll tell you even more, you will get the same performance gains on Intel chips, with the same ridiculously stupid settings.

In breaking news, 14 core cpu demolishes 6 core cpu in multicore applications. Next up scientists discover sun rises in the east.

The only valid comparison is single core.

NBC becomes worse and worse. Who "destroys" who is pointless without knowing the power consumption and the price. For now we can only say that Ryzen 9000 "destroys" Intel 14th gen. Everything else is like reading from cards.

This one is still in denial.
Number of cores is dictated by core size. It's not "if AMD could fit more cores", it just can't.

Listen to the Intel troll. My dog knows more about silicon than you. Intel's Skymont E cores are as powerful as last gen Raptor cores Einstein. So tell me again how 6 cores beats 14 cores in multithreading!
