Title: Smartphone photo comparison: Two contenders with top-of-the-range cameras on an Alpine summit
Post by: Redaktion on August 12, 2024, 14:32:50
We climbed up to 1,838 meters to pit two rarer high-end smartphones against each other in a photo comparison: Who managed to capture the impressive mountain scenery of the Bavarian Alps better—the Sony Xperia 1 VI or the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra?

Thought it was about even until the last pic.  Was that really the best the Sony could do?  Shoot a lot of Macro and that would be a deal-breaker for me.

Can't beat real optical zoom, it really shows in this comparison. Digital works until it doesn't.

I have a iPhone 15 pro and some of those zoom shots where there is text turns English into an Arabic like script. It's very bad, made worse when you consider the price of that phone.

I'm surprised you didn't install a RAW shooting app to compare them.
RAW is the only way to go for quality photos.
Even from smartphones they can be an improvement over JPG.
