I don't mind the increased price tag if it means better hardware (my CC with ATV 4k dongle can be very laggy), but will it include as many ads for rentals and purchases? I don't see the point in buying more expensive hardware if it's to get the same spam for contents I didn't ask for and have no interest in.

It's GooglAD! ADs is all Google knows, FIRST!
So, ofc, this device will have LOADS of unwanted / distasteful Ads shoveling down users throats just like any other Google-powered streaming devices.
And that so-called "it supports Dolby Vision / Atmos" - yeah, right, you'd need to bet on that it only supports **streaming services** low-tier formats e.g. DoVi p5 (not the superior quality FEL p7) and only lossy Atmos (not lossless Atmos).
And only Bluetooth 5.1?! What?!?! In 2024?! Wow!
Google also failed to mention, as expected, how would this device decode all local media codec/formats... e.g. HiRez audio codecs, are there any limitations to storage medium data sizes... on & on!
What's the SoC in this? Is it Amlogic S905. Would be nice to see Google use soething a lot more powerful like Apple does with the ATV 4K.
Only 22% faster now even though it is several years newer? Eww... the chromecast is severely underpowered as is.. its slow moving around apps.. 22% isnt enough.
