This is genuinely exciting. I actually like the way they approach the notion of "alignment" in that it's not an issue of ethics (something most "AI companies" seem really hung up on these days which I think is actively harming progress) but an issue of the connection quality and bandwidth between the computer and the specific human it's interacting with. That's how alignment should be done because there is no such thing as universal ethics.
