Title: Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD drops to lowest Amazon price of the year thus far
Post by: Redaktion on July 08, 2024, 23:55:17
The 4TB version of the Samsung 990 Pro has dipped below $300 on Amazon for the very first time this year. Although the quick PCIe 4.0 SSD has already been cheaper in the past, this is a good time to grab the enthusiast-grade storage module.

This is monstrously expensive compared to the prices of summer-autumn 2023. Demand will inevitably fall until prices return to the levels of summer 2023 and continue to fall further...

The price slump in 2023 was caused by massive NAND oversupply. Manufacturers have learned from that, I think it's rather unlikely that prices will drop back to those levels anytime soon.

Unlikely, and even if, it comes with a 5-year warranty. That being said, I have several older Samsung SSDs in use, all of which are working well.

On the contrary, it was normal competition and prices taking into account the growth in production of TSMC, which was artificially limited by sanctions.

Where are the "market conditions" and where are the criminal antitrust officials of all Western countries with the obvious oligopolistic collusion of the largest NAND manufacturers? Complete duplicity.
