2.5 slots? Twelve inches? You call that small form factor, Jensen Huang? Absolutely not. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further!https://www.notebookcheck.net/Give-us-real-SFF-Nvidia-not-this-joke-of-a-guideline.854595.0.html
I was thinking the exact same thing after reading through the Nvidia's "SFF-ready" guidelines.
I suppose I appreciate them giving a nod to the SFF build community, but honestly the outlook is pretty bleak if this is Nvidia's proposal.
I remember buying a Corsair One i200 with a 2080 Ti, coming in at 12L wondering if I would ever have cause to dedicate my valuable desk real-estate to huge cases ever again. Fast-forward to now, and the latest version of the Corsair One (i500) has grown to 22L - almost twice the size - to accommodate the 4090. I'm not saying that pre-builds should be the benchmark for SFF build sizes, but I do think it's a stark comparison to just 4 years ago.
I guess I'll just be shelling out the money and weekend work for custom cabling and hardline cooling solutions for the foreseeable future.
