Title: Microsoft removes the Win+C key combination to boost sales of Copilot+ PCs
Post by: Redaktion on June 21, 2024, 15:47:24
Microsoft is removing the Win+C key combination to open Copilot, citing the further development of the AI tool as the reason. However, it is more likely that Microsoft is hoping to sell more Copilot+ PCs as a result.

"A more obvious reason for the change is that Microsoft wants to boost sales of Copilot+ PCs, which enable more convenient use of the AI tool."

It seems like the bean counters are back at it inside Microsoft. This feels like the Windows 8 era again.

Highly unlikely.  During the Win 8 Era, I had no problem whatsoever with my PC being online.  These days I don't even give Win10/11 the split second chance of being online.

During the Win 8 Era, the only viable alternative is Linux.  With the launch of HarmonyOS for PCs right around the corner, Windows has about as much sex appeal as a Toyota hybrid in the face of modern Chinese EVs.

Linux wasn't the only option, there are dozens of options from Solaris to BSD.

But the issue is getting people to actually use your operating system. And most people in the west at least even if they wouldn't mind a chinese EV wouldn't touch HarmonyOS not that it would even be available as an option to begin with

Same likewise, most ppl in the East wouldn't even use Windows "wallpaper" for toilet paper...  East ppl got sick of Western crap.  Windows should have been dead in Asia long ago if not for Huawei pursuing greedy profits first (by relying on others operating systems) over tech autonomy...

Everyone in the East really looking forward to HarmonyOS for PCs.  I think eventually OpenHarmony will beat the shiet out of Linux!
