HP has announced a restructuring of its commercial portfolio offering. Starting with the EliteBook Ultra G1q, all HP commercial releases will launch with 'Elite' or 'Pro' prefixes. While HP hopes that the move will create simplicity that its commercial portfolio previously lacked, it may have created almost 40 new product segments in the process.https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-announces-commercial-portfolio-re-brand-with-baffling-36-product-segments.840038.0.html
Coming from the same company that cant be bothered to update their support page to make it easier to find manuals and stuff, they might as well start planning their retirement from the PC race.
They had some winning lineups that were growing (Elitebook, DragonFly, Spectre), but now, all that consumer knowledge will be lost bc marketing felt they needed some generic name to slap on their devices.
It's not that bad. It basically stays the same:
Ultra = Zbook
X = elitebook 10x0
8 = elitebook 8x0
6 = elitebook 6x0
4 = probook 4x0
2 = probook 2x0
I wonder if they also clean up the zbook branding, it was a bit confusing - firefly, power, studio, fury. HP, please, just reconsider the keyboards and give us back the Home, PgUp, PgDn, ... column on 14", I promise I'll buy it immediately
