Title: Panasonic Lumix S9: compact full frame camera rumoured to battle Fujifilm X100VI for content creator crown on May 22
Post by: Redaktion on May 13, 2024, 18:56:02
A new Panasonic rumour suggests that the upcoming Panasonic Lumix S9 will land on May 22 with a full-frame sensor and L-Mount. It is slated to directly challenge the Fujifilm X100VI's throne with its compact size, similar price, and a LUT button in lieu of Fujifilm's film simulations. A press invitation for the launch event reads "Capture True Color."

a 24mp full frame video shooter at $1600 would be a red-hot deal and a huge challenge to Fuji and Sony. very aggressive positioning indeed if true

So hmm.. is this really a Fujifilm X100VI competitor, or rather Panasonic's answer to the long standing Sigma FP series? A big part of the allure of the X100 series is the hybrid viewfinder, and of course, it sports the flip-up back screen favored by some street shooters. No viewfinder seems like it's got nothing to do with the X100VI and you're just mentioning Fujifilm because they have a hot product. I bet the screen is the floppy video sort that street shooters don't like but videographers and especially vloggers demand.

Correct.

It kind of undermines my trust in the editorial integrity of notebook check. Seems clickbaity.
