Google has unveiled many of the details surrounding its new Pixel 8a mid-range smartphone. Unfortunately for those looking for an exciting upgrade from the Google Pixel 7a, this simply isn't it. That doesn't mean the Pixel 8a is dead in the water. While the display, cameras, and performance have received little to no updates, the new seven-year software support commitment is a huge boon for the Pixel 8a.

Display is way better in 8a thanks to almost doubleing the nits. Frequency isnt everything.

I always wait 3 or 4 generations before upgrading. Moving up from a pixel 4a 5g to the 8a for $299 - $36 for trade in as I have Google Fi. My previous pixel was just $229 for moving to FI.
