Early details for a new IdeaPad Slim 5 refresh have surfaced online. Arriving in the wake of recent AMD Hawk Point and Intel Meteor Lake releases, it seems that Lenovo is turning towards the Snapdragon X Plus, Qualcomm's 10-core chipset.

How much time is left before Intel/AMD/Qualcomm is deprived of export licenses for Chinese Lenovo?

China has only 17% of the world's population and only 10% of its consumption. Intel/AMD/Qualcomm won't be too upset about losing China.

In the next 12-15 years, the level of purchasing power (in real money, not nominal fiat candy wrappers) of the Chinese will fall by 2-2.5 times, as in Russia from 2008-2012. China has passed the peak of development of its society and will be of less and less interest for sales in terms of margins.
