Title: Workers misjudge their salary compared to others - completely

It is a widespread perception that people earn more in other sectors - with one clear exception. The consequences for actual salaries and entire sectors of the economy are huge.

The foundations of capitalism are competition and choice.

People often only think about competition in terms of companies competing with each other in terms of profit and market share, but that competition equally applies to wage renumeration, when it comes to getting the most productive workforce.

This is why toxic claims about all companies punitively trying to pay their employees the lowest possible wages is so damaging, as people who genuinely believe such claims won't try to switch job, or ask for a raise, ironically creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

how's that boot taste? companies have been fleecing people on wages for nearly 100 years now. Wage theft IS the largest form of theft carried out today, and it's all done by corporations and private entities. Labor and worker protections fought on the blood, sweat, and tears of unions and worker activists are what have kept people from being slaves, not corporations paying us pennies while their execs buy their 3re yacht.
