An analyst confirms rumors of the upcoming launch of the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro later this year, while recent rumors suggest that the console will be able to display games in 4K at 120 frames per second, thanks to Nvidia DLSS-style upscaling technology.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Sony-PlayStation-5-Pro-to-get-DLSS-alternative-for-4K-gaming-at-120-Hz-analyst-confirms-launch-in-2024.805605.0.html
If it's an AMD cpu + gpu of course it can't run DLSS anyway. AMD doesn't have tensor cores for fast matrix math. Why wouldn't Sony use FSR2.x. FSR actually looks good at 4K unlike at 1080p where it's garbage.
When scrutinized FSR is inferior to DLSS.
Sony have upscaling included in their TV's, must think they can do a better job.
Maybe they have stuff incorporated in their upscaling model that is superior to DLSS.
Upscaling is quite popular right now, probably the most obvious and accessible way to use AI.
Been in TV's a while and is a battle ground for TV producers, I don't think it is outrageous that Sony think they have something to add.
