Title: Tesla Cybertruck seals the 123 kWh battery during river crossings using the air suspension tank
Post by: Redaktion on December 15, 2023, 16:34:39
The Cybertruck may not be able to swim in the sea when the seas are "not too choppy" just yet, but it has a cool Wade mode that lets it cross rivers and streams. Tesla has found an ingenious way to seal the battery pack for the purpose.

I don't understand the idea of pressurising the battery as a way to prevent water ingress. The way I understand it, for it to hold enough water to pressurise the battery, it would need to be sealed from the get-go, no?

The battery is sealed ,but just in case there is a small leak, a pressurized battery pack would not allow water ingress. As it has an on board compressor it could maintain that positive pressure for as long as necessary, if there was a small leek.
