Title: New study shows problems with Coros Pace 3 smartwatch heart rate accuracy
Post by: Redaktion on December 06, 2023, 14:10:29
The Coros Pace 3 smartwatch has been pitted against various Garmin, Apple and Polar wearables in new research by the5krunner. The study looked at the performance of the Coros device across a range of exercises, proving it to be less accurate than competitor products.

Two questions:

1. Why are you referring to an 'experiment' done by 'the5krunner' using terms such as 'a study' or 'research'. Making it seems as if it's more legitimate than it actually is. It's neither a study nor research.

2. With the constant weekly or sometimes daily 'articles' on Garmin software updates and now this attempt to drag Coros through the mud a little bit, one can't help but wonder if it's related.

You need to begin disclosing which 'articles' are sponsored and which are not. Either directly or as part of a larger campaign or agreement.

Referring to a subjective test done by one tech reviewer as a "Study" is incredibly misleading. At best, conduct the test from a personal standpoint to provide your experience. There are far too many variables in a single test (where and how tightly a device is worn, etc.) can greatly impact this.

Similarly, my wife's Apex Pro is awful inaccurate for heart rate when biking. Other than that issue she loves the thing.

Very misleading. Comparing a watch measured heart rate with a chest strap is silly. I pair my Coros with a HR strap the same way I do with a Garmin watch. If the watch is loose, measurement gets off. Same on a very sweaty wrist.

I have to agree with the other commenters here that this is a very misleading and biased article.

Next time compare HR or GPS accuracy of Pace 3 with other smartwatches, and leave out chest or arm based HR straps.

Very misleading title, and article in whole. I regret clicking on it and I will certainly be more cautious before opening any articles suggested for this site, and for 5krunner.
