The biggest discount of 49% is recorded on the previous gen Ryzen 9 5900X that is now down to US$288.99. On Intel's side, the previous gen i9-12900KS is 19% off at US%349.https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-and-Intel-CPU-Black-Friday-deals-on-Amazon-Ryzen-9-7900X3D-drops-to-US-433-i7-13700K-only-US-345.771869.0.html
I prefer AMD a thousand times over Intel.
Thanks to AMD's competition we have better quality/price products and the more competition there is, the better.
Currently AMD laptops are scarce in stores and it has already been confirmed to me in several professional computer forums that everyone is looking for AMD, let's hope that AMD together with the manufacturers can supply everyone.

If Apple didn't smack them on the face in 2020/21 they'd both still gladly sell you same old sh*t.
Wait, what. Both AMD and Apple hit Intel in the face and Intel still sells the same old ++++++++.

From that review:
QuoteCPU performance is faster than any Intel Comet Lake-U or Ice Lake-powered laptop at the moment.
QuoteThe latest Ryzen laptops are able to offer higher performance-per-Watt than any Intel Core U-series laptop at the moment especially when it comes to processor performance.
QuoteThe AMD-powered 2020 VivoBook Flip couldn't have launched at a better time. Intel's 10th gen Ice Lake and Comet Lake-U platforms have already grown stale against the Zen 2 series in terms of raw performance and the generally lower starting prices of AMD laptops make Core i7 alternatives even less attractive at the moment.

Those were just a bit better than intel.
M1 laptop was idling at 1.3W and was still a very decent PC even on a low power 8W package.
I think both numbers were unreachable for AMD in terms of performance and efficiency by a mile, so they also got a decent smack.

Yeah I hear this a lot from people who were advocating Intel just five years ago.

This 4700U geekbench 5 is actually similar to what M1 Air was giving in 'low power mode' (_whole laptop_ is strictly limited to 8W max power consumption). It was at around 1100/4400 in this case. And 4700U is like twice worse than M1 Air in default mode (max 39W power consumption if I remember correctly).
So whatever this particular AMD CPU did, M1 could do at around 8W.
P.S. Not 39W though, 25-30W.
