Koga has launched the 2023 Pace B05 e-bike. The model features a 250W mid-mounted Bosch motor and 750Wh battery, allowing you to ride with assistance for up to 240 km (~149 miles). I adore the concept. It is just too hard to find decent groupsetsbor without off road suspensions,at any price. Sadly, 63#'s is utterly rediculous.
Why are we still using heavy, dull and buzzy straight gauge aluminum? What's worse are those square tubes. It doesn't make sense. We quite using that stuff on entry level bikes in The 90's.
I can add an over powered, torque sensing mid-drive, with a little more torque,to a base hybrid and bring it in under 45#'s. That's with a 48 volt, 20ah battery. It's close to half the price as well. I do it weekly at my shop and frankly, there are no shops in my area that do not have at least one tech better than I. If I can do it mfg's certainly can.
