A multitude of people across the Internet is reporting severe issues with Apple CarPlay failing to launch when plugging an iPhone 15 into their car. The most likely reason is unsupported USB-A to USB-C cables, although some users have reported other factors causing CarPlay to crash.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Multiple-users-report-issues-with-Apple-CarPlay-via-iPhone-15-USB-C-cable-likely-culprit.756749.0.html
Dumbasses are using charging-only cables and wonder why no data connection works. Average Apple User.

Unlikely. Charging only cables are rare. Those have only two strands and are usually included with small Chinese devices that don't support fast charging. All other cables have at least USB2 data that should be enough for Car Play.
The plethora of problems indicates that the fault is both on Apple and cable quality. Type-c cables kinda die a lot faster than Type-A (at least in my experience).
My 15 ProMax and 2022 X3 M40i have been playing together nicely. No issues at all. In fact it's been better than my 12 Pro ever was. I do have USB-C ports though, so the cable can't be an issue.
