Google's 2024-bound Tensor G4 will not be nearly as impressive as predicted earlier. The Pixel 9 series' SoC will instead build upon its predecessor. Google's fully custom chip is expected to launch sometime in 2025.

Google's hardware SOC releases have been really mid relative to their software and pixel performance. Like they work fine, but for a custom piece of hardware they're not really strutting their best imo. Its not breaking any performance barriers for Android while theres security benefits to their Chips, every year its failed to excite the consumer w/ its overall user performance metrics relative to Mediatek or Qualcomm.
