A major case manufacturer has effectively confirmed that Apple will replace the Mute switch for at least some of its next iPhones. Reportedly only arriving on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the new action button should offer greater versatility than the mute switch, although its customisation options remain unknown for now.

I'm all for iPhones as they are quite good phones, but it feels like the industry is trying to hype this year's crop with meaningless changes like USB-C replacing Lightning and now this action button - those are not features that make or break a phone at this point, why is there nothing else on the line?
