Post by: Redaktion on August 17, 2023, 11:49:34
The PlayStation 5 Pro could pack a custom APU with a Zen 4 CPU and an RDNA 3/3.5 iGPU. According to the newest leak out of RedGamingTech, the PS5 Pro reportedly features 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM alongside an unspecified amount of DDR5 memory for the OS. The leaker also mentions considerably higher clock frequencies for both the CPU and the iGPU.

Games need to be compatible with the original PS5 so the PS5 pro may have vastly superior hardware but the experience isn't going to be much different. If devs could ignore the original and target the pro it might be a different story but I doubt Sony will allow that and also the market would be way smaller so developers probably wouldn't do that anyway.

I don't understand the comment. The PS Pro will just support higher graphics settings, in the PS 5 you keep selecting the graphics settings that work now. It's silly to think Sony would only release games specifically for the PS 5 Pro. It's just using an updated custom Zen APU.
