Just as Tesla is trying to lower the 40% share of Chinese battery companies in its supply chain, along comes CATL with a new LFP pack that can take 250 miles of range in 10 minutes. It is also much better acting at freezing temperatures but it's unclear if or when the Model 3 and Model Y get it.

Country with inferior EV technology trying to sanction country with superior EV technology...

Both countries are afraid.  Otherwise, they'd let the free market reign with no tariffs or restrictions on import/export.

The thing is, none of it is sustainable, so eventually an imbalance corrects itself.
