Title: Nikon addresses failing Z8 strap lugs by telling retailers to yank on them before selling them and issuing replacement bodies when necessary
Post by: Redaktion on July 29, 2023, 02:23:13
A few days ago, reports started popping up of Nikon Z8 strap lugs simply resigning from their duties and falling off the camera for no reason. Now, Nikon has responded to the issue, instructing distributors to test the strap lugs by tugging on them before sale. While this may seem a bit excessive, Nikon is also reportedly testing recalled units for the same problem.

Oh god Nikon that's incredibly embarrassing. Having to do a "yank" test on a £4000 item? Wouldn't it be classed as an open box product if an employee of some shop has to take it out and aggressively yank the strap before selling? Can't believe they are going down this road of offering ever more expensive products with worse quality control. Get your act together.

Can I buy one without the strap holders, I'll make do if it's cheaper!
