Title: Oukitel RT6: A new rugged tablet with Android 13, a huge battery and a detachable kickstand
Post by: Redaktion on July 24, 2023, 17:55:09
Oukitel touts its new RT6 as its "most powerful" rugged Android tablet yet. Its 10.1-inch display is sustained by a battery with a capacity as large as some power banks out there, rated to stay on for no less than 2,250 hours on standby. It has a microSD card slot and RAM that can be extended in its software, although its robust nature comes with one or two potential key weaknesses.

Unfortunately Oukitel never provide updates, not even critical security ones.
They tend to favor mediatek chips, which violate gpl and steal code only to not provide it to vendors. Which means you will be stuck on an unsecured ancient kernel, with no possibility to update.

Yeah, I got a Oukitel K9 - 7.2" screen and it's awesome.... except there have been almost no updates of any kind. It went out of date so fast that unless you're running very basic software on it, things get frustrating fast.

The screen aspect ratio is 16:10, btw.
