Three new workstation laptops with AMD Ryzen CPUs are coming out: The new Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 and P16s Gen 2 will feature Ryzen 7040U, while the bigger Lenovo ThinkPad P16v combines Ryzen 7040HS with the Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada.https://www.notebookcheck.net/ThinkPad-P16v-P14s-G4-and-P16s-G2-Lenovo-announces-new-AMD-Ryzen-7040-based-workstation-laptops.734868.0.html
I'm just glad that there are USB-A ports.
p14s g4 says HDMI 2.0, while their psref says HDMI 2.1
Why is it so hard for Lenovo to tell us what we are buying with clarity?
Looks like they listened to Niko B. 😂
What's wrong with these AMD chips that we only get 1x USB4 port?
Are they not native ports? Too few PCIe lanes?
I keep waiting for Lenovo to offer a proper Ryzen workstation, but a single USB 4 port isn't enough. It's got to carry 4x4k DisplayPort streams and all the USB/eGPU/10G ethernet/NVMe stuff I may potentially want in the future.
The two 4k streams are nearly 40Gbps on their own.
