The first benchmark result for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 has emerged online, courtesy of the RedMagic 8S Pro. Qualcomm's next flagship chip refresh scores favourably against the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ and an early version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Does anyone really care with Gen 3 just around the corner. The last thing a smartphone SoC needs is higher clocks which will just mean more heat and faster throttling.

With Generation 3 on the horizon, does anyone really care? The last thing a smartphone SoC requires is a higher clock speed, as this will only result in increased heat and throttling.
