Title: Logitech MX Keys S: Design, pricing and release window for new wireless keyboard leak
Post by: Redaktion on May 11, 2023, 19:42:41
According to a reliable leaker, Logitech will announce both the MX Anywhere 3S wireless mouse and MX Keys S wireless keyboard next month. The same leaker has also revealed the latter's design, key features and US pricing.

Will this revision be working in a wired mode when battery is dead?

I really hope they have listened to customers and changed the backlight behaviour. Previous models used a proximity sensor and the backlight turns off after a few seconds. It would only come back on by pressing a key or waving your hand over the right place like an idiot, along the whole thing redundant.  Worst backlight implementation ever.
ALSO, while it has a USB-C port for changing, it CANNOT be used to plug it in for wired mode, what an idiotic decision.
Just hop over to the Logitech forum and take a look.

Not just that - many users, me included, have the problem where the backlight keeps flashing every 10 seconds even when hands are away from it. The only fix is to open the keyboard and disconnect the proximity sensor, after which the backlight will work only after pressing a key.

Yeah I forgot about that one. Does that mostly happen when it's unplugged?
Logitech keeps touting battery life as an excuse but I would much rather have a timeout option plus permanently on option in Logitechs bloated Options software than long battery life. They really are dropping the ball, nevermind their awful pricing.

If their mice are of any reference, you can open the thing up and change batteries yourself, with a little effort, against the intent of Logitech of course.
