Alpine has shared details about its A290_ẞ (A290_beta) compact hot hatch that is set to launch in 2024 and compete with the likes of the Golf GTI, Abarth 500e, and Mini Cooper SE. The A290_ẞ is a dual-motor front-wheel-drive sporty hatchback concept based on the Renault 5, but with a few unique design cues and a central driver's seat.

"The Renault 5 bones are barely visible"

The author has probably not seen a lot of R5 in his life.
On the contrary, the rear (and the overal design) is very reminiscent of the R5 Turbo.

To be fair, while the back is very clearly an updated Super 5, the original R5 did not quite have those shapes.
