The Radeon RX 7600 and the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti are reportedly going to be the newest additions to the next-gen GPU race from AMD and NVIDIA respectively. According to a recent listing by EEC, both cards feature 8 GB of VRAM.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Imminent-RX-7600-and-RTX-4060-Ti-GPUs-from-Gigabyte-appear-on-EEC-confirming-8-GB-of-VRAM-for-next-gen-mid-range-boards.714475.0.html
This isn't midrange but low-end. The PS5 Pro is rumored to be coming soon based on 7700 XT. The ps5 already has over double the VRAM of these cards and most games target this console. Aren't consoles historically meant to be the basis for what is considered mid-to-low range? I guess you could call this midrange pricing for desktop dGPU's I suppose.

Don't put too much stock in Pro/refresh rumors. Maybe they'll make a Slim instead.
The PS5 and Xbox have 16 GB of shared GDDR6 memory for what a PC would use RAM and VRAM for. And games don't even get to use the whole 16 GB. I believe 2 GB is reserved for the OS, so you're down to 14 GB.
We already knew the RX 7600 would have 8 GB. RX 7600 XT can be redeemed if there is a 16 GB option for +$50 more.
AD106, yes...mobile 4070, no wonder...curse Ngreedia.
