China is no stranger to EVs that cost 4-5k already. The problem is most of these cars won't make it out of China as they won't pass crash testing or offer experience people expect of a car.
Affordable EVs are coming, don't get me wrong. But don't get any hopes up of the stuff sold in China being sold outside.

Looks like someone's living under a rock and yet not realising it.
Model 2 is still in the planning stage. At best, still on the drawing board. Expected to be launched in late 2024 and delivery in 2025!
